William Spence, circa 1850. Single storey, 3-bay L-plan lodge. Squared and coursed cream sandstone, polished ashlar dressings. Base course; chamfered arrises; hoodmoulds; quoin strips; overhanging eaves; bargeboarded gables.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: advanced gabled doorway to centre, chamfered reveals, roll-moulded surround, 2-leaf panelled doors, corbelled gablehead (partly obscured by creeper). Windows flanking.
W ELEVATION: gable elevation, window to centre.
Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced stack to centre.
It was built as the lodge to Chapelacre House which has been demolished.
