Description

Later 18th century, reworked later 19th century. 3-storey and attic 5-bay ashlar-colour rendered tenement with shop at ground and broad pend; raised margins, ashlar dressings; facade framed by channelled quoins. Painted at ground, square-headed pend to far right, with narrow window to immediate left. 3-bay shop to left, with 2-leaf panelled door set in broad pilastered doorcase with dentiled cornice, flanking square plate glass shop windows. Upper floor with windows to each bay; consoled cornices. Dentilled cornice; pair of piend roofed timber canted dormers with small wrought-rion cresting.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Rebuilt stacks (stone to left, rendered to right); grey slates; flat skews, moulded skewputts (much eroded).

Statement of Interest

Probably earlier 19th century property8 reworked later in century. Part of a continuous group with 2 to 16 Canongate.
