Description

Late 19th century. 2 storey and attic, 3 bay house with classical details; 3 stage, central entrance tower. Cream sandstone ashlar; rubble to sides and rear. Base course; cill courses and dividing band course to ground and 1st floor windows to outer bays; channelled outer quoins; strip quoins to tower.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: Tower: corniced and balustraded parapet to central porch at ground with paired stylized Ionic columns flanking recessed 2 leaf panelled door; plate glass fanlight; single window to 2nd stage above; round-arched tripartite 3rd stage window; dentilled cornice, balustraded parapet with ball finials above. Outer Bays: pedimented bay to outer right with advanced windows; bipartite window at ground and to 1st floor above; carved roundel to pediment. Gabled bay to outer left; full height, 4 light canted window with curvilinear parapet; small, circular window to gablehead.

Plate glass, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended and platformed roof; corniced wallhead stacks. Original rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND GATEPIERS: low coped boundary wall to street; replacement railings. 3 corniced channelled gatepiers with fluted friezes and ball finials.
