Earlier 19th century. Single storey with attic, 4-bay cottage with recessed garage entrance to outer left. Painted render; projecting cills.
NW (MAIN STREET) ELEVATION: 3-leaf boarded timber door off-set to left of centre; narrow letterbox fanlight. Recessed boarded timber garage door in bay to outer left; gabled dormer aligned above. Single windows at ground in remaining 2 bays to right of entrance; gabled dormer in bay to outer right.
4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; raised stone skews; cast-iron rainwater goods. Red brick apex stacks; various circular cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1997.
B Group with adjacent View Holloa and nearby Ewart House (see separate list entries). Retains a degree of architectural interest despite its prominent garage entrance and general simplicity. Note the timber sash and case windows, small openings, boarded timber door, narrow fanlight and apex stacks. Here, interest lies both in the individual merit of the cottage and in its role within the surrounding streetscape.
