Description

Late 19th century with later alterations and additions. 2-storey, 3-bay L-plan symmetrical house with 3-light canted windows at ground to advanced gabled bays flanking (later) classical entrance porch, built on raised terrace. Squared and snecked rubble with cement-rendered dressings. Base course; cornice and blocking course to canted windows; hood moulds to 1st floor windows; plain timber bargeboards with timber apex pendants; overhanging eaves; decorative wrought-iron gable finials; long and short quoins. Pitch-roofed cement-rendered and lined, rectangular-plan shed to N.

SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: low coped wall with short pyramidal-capped pier terminals flanking stone flight to central door. Banded pilasters supporting shallow pediment over timber panelled door and fanlight to advanced porch at ground in bay to centre; gabled window breaking eaves at 1st floor above. Canted window at ground with bipartite at 1st floor above in each advanced bay flanking.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: 3-bay, M-gabled elevation. Single storey, flat-roofed porch in bay to centre with stair light flanking to left. Window at 1st floor in bay to right. Advanced pitched single storey wing projecting from bay to left.

2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate; slate to outbuilding; asbestos covering to flat-roofed porch at rear; stone ridge; corniced rubble ridge stacks; cast-iron rainwater goods with some uPVC replacements.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND ENTRANCE: rubble boundary wall with cement-rendered and lined corniced square-plan piers flanking pedimented timber panelled door sited to E.
