Description

Early 19th century. 2 storey, 6 bay, rectangular plan cartshed and granary. Random rubble with stugged dressings, droved to margins. Long and short quoins; eaves course.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: near symmetrical; segmental arches to each bay of ground floor; boarded timber door to arch to outer left; openings to each bay of 1st floor, glazing missing in places.

N ELEVATION: obscured by adjoining cottage (see separate listing).

E ELEVATION: not seen 1998.

S ELEVATION: asymmetrical; boarded timber door off centre to left of 1st floor, reached by flight of stone steps.

Predominantly 4 pane timber windows. Replacement corrugated iron roof; stone skews. Stugged, coped gablehead stack to S with circular cans. Cast iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

A fine example of a purpose built cartshed with a granary above, typical of the improved farms of the early 19th century.
