Probably Robert Smith, Architect, Gorebridge, late 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3 bay cottage orne. Tooled, snecked sandstone rubble with stugged long and short dressings droved to margins. Raised margins to ground floor; gableted dormers with timber bargeboards, kingpost detail and timber finial to apex of attic floor; pierced and carved bargeboard to gable.
W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical; gabled porch advanced to centre bay of ground floor; boarded timber door with letterbox fanlight; timber bargeboards and finial to apex of gable. Window to each flanking bay. Dormer window to left and right bays of attic.
S ELEVATION: blank.
E ELEVATION: not seen 1998.
N ELEVATION: obscured by adjoining cartshed and granary (see separate listing).
12 pane timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slate roof with lead ridge and overhanging eaves. Stugged, coped gablehead stack with circular cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
Robert Smith undertook a number of works in a similar style on the Arniston Estate for Robert Dundas.
