Statement of Interest

A well-detailed, remarkably intact farmhouse which has retained some notable features - in particular, the contrasting use of whinstone and sandstone, the rubble relieving arches, large stair window and timber sash and case glazing. Rutherfurd notes a James Simson as farmer here in 1866. Neither the associated steading nor the farmworkers' cottages to the NW are included in this listing.
