Description

Later 19th century. Remains of near rectangular-plan walled garden (approximately 3,000msq), set to NW of Blanerne House. Harl-pointed tooled cream rubble walls (stepped in part); some red brick linings (harled in part); squared coping; stugged quoins; stugged long and short surrounds to square-headed openings. Door missing; greenhouses removed; no remains of original layout.

Statement of Interest

Overgrown and not in use 1998. Despite its present state of disrepair, this large walled garden retains a degree of architectural interest - its tall coped walls, some with red brick linings, remaining fundamentally intact. Originally associated with the nearby Blanerne House (see separate list entry), the garden is now owned separately.
