Sir Joseph Edgar Boehm, 1887. Bronze full-height portrait statue of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, standing, in ceremonial garb with Tudor rose embossed skirt, crown and veil, holding orb and sceptre. Placed upon tapering pedestal of squared, rock-faced granite with inscribed panel at centre.
The dedicatory panel explains that the statue was erected by the tenants and servants of Balmoral, Abergeldie and Birkhall, together with the servants in her Majesty's household, natives of Crathie, in commemoration of the fiftieth year of her reign. It is sited near the obelisk erected on the death of Her Majesty, listed separately, and close to the statue of Albert, the Prince Consort. Queen Victoria attended the unveiling of the statue on 6th October, 1887. Boehm (1834-1890) was Sculptor-in-Ordinary to the Queen. He is famous for statues such as that of Wellington at London's Hyde Park Corner.
