N workshop: 3 sliding machinery doors to S at centre and left, 3 fixed 4-pane windows flanking; implement shed to right with cast-iron columns and 2-leaf doors. W gable end with 2 doors at ground and loft door above, with loading platform. Purple slates and cast-iron rooflights. Clay ridge. Brick ridge stack.
S workshop: L-plan. Variety of glazing to windows to S and 2 doors; brick stack in re-entrant angle formed with shorter wing running S. 2-leaf doors to W gable. Graded grey slates, lead flashings and 2 metal ventilators. Cast-iron rooflights.

The workshops are of interest as components of the Castle estate, proximity to stables, ballroom, larders and Karim Cottage, and for their form and materials. Reference is made in the archives to the erection of a new fuel shed in 1875, possibly the N workshop/ store described here.
