History

Sculpture dated 1884. Designed by M Raggi, sculptor of London; made by H Young & Co, art founders of Pimlico. Unveiled by Lord Aberdare, 1886.

Exterior

Tall, square red granite pedestal with moulded cornice and base, chamfered angles. Bronze standing figure of Sir H Hussey Vivian, Bart, MP, First Baron Swansea of Singleton; topcoat and outstretched right hand, left hand holding a scroll, pile of books to rear.
