Shown on the 1839 Tithe Map, the bridge was constructed to cross the rapid and fast-flowing waterfalls of the Afon Gwyrfai at this point.
Bridge. Roughly coursed rubblestone with stone-on-edge coping. Wide single-span elliptical arch with voussoirs and arch-ring.
Included as a simple and unaltered early C19 bridge of vernacular type in a picturesque location.
