A small stone house, probably C18 to early C19, attached to rear of No 16 Main Street, and occupying the outshut rear of that building also. Building on site on 1844 tithe map.
House, rubble stone with slate roof and red brick left end stack. Two storeys, small scale, the facade partly obscured by the roof of the outshut of No 16 Main Street which is carried over the gap in the angle to the right of the outshut to join the roof of No 1.
Stone voussoirs to renewed sash windows, 2small 9-pane sashes above, and door to extreme left, within C20 glazed porch lean-to against rear of No 16, and centre and right 12-pane sashes, not aligned with window above.
Included as smaller vernacular house of group value with No 16 Main Street and No 3 Hamilton Street.
