History

Perhaps C17, much restored.

Exterior

The restored lychgate of Tremeirchion parish church, consisting of a timber roof the rafters of which are now tied only at the gable facing the church (with a strongly cambered tie-beam). The roof is slated, and has bargeboards and simple finials. The timberwork is carried on two roughly axe-dressed limestone side walls, which are in turn buttressed by the churchyard wall. Single openwork timber gate at the outer gable.

Interior

Slate flagstones and side benches.

Reasons for Listing

A fine traditional lychgate of simple design, listed also for group value with the Parish Church.
