History

Mid C17, probably contemporary with the house for which they were built.

Exterior

The gateposts are built of dressed stone, square in plan and capped by shaped raking coping surmounted by large ball finials. A wide single gate is hung to R, the lower part has closely spaced rails, the upper has crossed braces and horizontal rails; the top rail surmounted by trefoil finials flanked by scrolled terminals.

Reasons for Listing

Included as well preserved C17 gates and gatepiers which form a strong visual group with the adjacent house for which they were built.
