History

Likely to be late C15 in origin but probably completely reconstructed at restoration in 1900 with the medieval material being reused to a considerable degree.

Exterior

Built of limestone, but the steps are different from the socket stone and shaft. Four diminishing square steps with lips, of which the bottom one looks like the most renewed. Plain socket stone; tapering shaft going from square to octagonal and carrying a knop head, above this a small C20 cross.

Reasons for Listing

Included for its special historic interest and its group value with the Church of St. Giles and Gileston Manor.
