The school was opened in 1900; boundary wall with railings and gates was an integral part of the original design.
Boundary wall and railings with gates and gate-piers. Brick with stone dressings to gate piers and plinth wall, cast-iron railings and gates. Two gates aligned with the two original entrances to the school; gate piers and terminal piers to walling are brick with stone ball finials; gates and railings have close-spaced uprights below the mid-bar, wider-spaced spear-head railings above.
Listed as an integral part of the setting of the former Intermediate School, and as virtually unaltered from the original c1900 design.
