PAKENHAM ROAD 1. 5104 Edgbaston B15 Nos 5 and 6 SP 0685 SW 46/28 2.4.81 II GV 2. Circa 1850-55; identical villas linked by screen wall coach houses. Each of 2 storeys and attic, red brick with Italianate stucco dressings. 3 bays symmetrical front. Plinth; rusticated quoins; first floor sill band with acanthus enriched Vitruvian scroll, bed mould to frieze and dentil band below flat eaves of gable end slate roof with flanking corniced chimney stacks; 2 round headed dormers. First floor has tripartite windows flanking single central window, sashes revealed in thin pilaster strip frames with guttae consoles to dentil cornices. Ground floor has shallow canted bays with Corinthian pilasters supporting entablatures. Broad central porch of Corinthian columns and entablature with dentilled and bracketed cornice (porch removed at No 6). Four panel door in panelled reveals with geometric glazed rectangular fanlight. The linked coach house screen walls are pierced by segmental arched coach doors.
