Farmhouse. Late C17 to early C18, extended mid-C19 with mid-C20 alterations.
Part timber-framed with rendered and brick infill, brick refacing and some
roughcast, part coursed dressed sandstone rubble. Earlier framed part has
a plain tiled roof and large end brick stacks, later sandstone part has a
hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and a left side stack. Original
part: two bays aligned north-west/south-east. Two storeys. Framing visible
in small sections at south-east end and rear. South-west front elevation:
has a 3-light C19 casement and a C20 cross-casement on the ground floor and
two first floor 3-light C19 casements. C19 addition adjoins north-west end.
Two storeys, three bays. There are 16-pane sashes in the outer bays on both
storeys, a central first floor 12-pane sash and a central entrance with a C20
gabled brick porch, a panelled door and a transom light with three glazing
bars. Later C19 and C20 additions at rear. (RCHM Herefs II, p 16, item 48).
