Group of adjoining houses. Earliest part ie. Manor Cottage probably C17 otherwise
1835 (datestone in front wall). Painted slatestone rubble, rendered to Manor cottage
and painted slate hanging to main part of group. Hipped, asbestos slate roofs.
Axial brick stack over left party wall of main block and later stone stack to east
wall of Manor cottage. Irregular plan arrangements of 2 rooms to each cottage with
side and end entrances. 2 storeys. 2 window left-hand return front to Manor cottage
and 4 window front to main block. Entrance of Manor cottage to left with C20 top
glazed door and 2-light C20 casements. Main front has box porches to side wall left
and adjoining pair between ground floor windows 2 and 3. Boarded door, left and top
glazed pair of doors, right. Original 16-pane, hornless sashes survive to ground and
first floor right. Otherwise later replacement sashes except C20 windows to first
floor openings 1 and 2. Cambered brick arches to ground floor. Slate sills. Right
corner splayed.
Interior of Manor cottage has C19 cast iron range and some old planked doors. Other
interiors not inspected.
The cottages occupy an important position on the harbour front in the middle of the
village.
