Inn, possibly originally a house. C18. Painted slatestone rubble walls. Steep
asbestos slate roof lower rear pitch and sweeping to lower eaves at rear. Very tall
brick chimney over gable end, left adjoining much taller gable end of the Victory
Bookshop q.v. and brick chimney over external breast to gable end right. 2 room,
double depth, central stair plan remodelled early C19. 2 storeys plus attic. 6
window, west, street front slightly irregular with entrance to fourth ground floor
opening. Window to left of entrance in widened opening. 2 windows to right of
doorway. C20 porch with slate roof. Wooden lintels, cemented over. Granite sills.
3 flat-roofed, roof dormers with 12-pane, 2-light casements.
Interior has stairs, beams etc of early C19 remodelling.
