GV II

House. Dated 1797, with alterations and additions of C19 and C20. Stone rubble with
stone dressings; right end rendered. Bitumenised slate and asbestos slate roof with
ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shafts and stack at the rear
to right with brick shaft.
Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance and principal room of equal size to
front right and left, each heated from a gable end stack. Kitchen to rear right
heated from a stack at the right side and unheated service room to rear left. C20
addition to rear right. The house is built over a cellar at the rear.
Exterior: 2 storeys, a symmetrical 3-window front; all windows are C19 16-pane
sashes with flat stone arches and keystones. At first floor, the arches are
continued as an eaves band course, with the datestone with raised carved numerals to
left: 1797. Central C20 half-glazed door, with cambered stone arch. The right end
has C20 door and C20 window at first floor. C20 2-storey addition to rear right.
The left end has C20 window a ground floor to left.
