Heraldic shields. I have used Burkes General Armory and Papworths Alphabetical Dictionary of Coats Arms to help me guess the tinctures intended and match these to families connected by marriage to the Sherards. The place names are also as given there. The letter m means an heiress married the following named family.
Roberts (m 4th Earl) (of Sutton Chevell co Leics.) Per pale argent and gules a lion rampant sable
Hearst (m 4th Earl) (Hurst of Barrowby co Lincs.) Argent an estoile of 12 points gules
Reeve (wife of 4th Earl) Gules a chevron vaire or and azure between three roses argent barbed and seeded proper .
Sherard of Stapleford (BGA p921) Argent a chevron gules between three torteauxes.
