Inscription on front of tomb: Here lies interred the Body of Sir William Sherard, Lord Sherard Baron of Leitrim in Ireland. His most singular Piety, Bounty, Courtesy, Humanity, Hospitality, Charity Crowned his mortall life, which (after he had enjoyed 52 years) he changed for that which is Immortall, the first day of April in the yeare of our Lord God 1640, Whose coming he here expectes.
Inscription above: William Lord Sherard third Sonne of Francis Sherard Esquire Had Issue seven Sonnes: Bennet, Philip, George, Francis, William, henry, John and four Daughters: Emelin, Abigail, Anne, Elizabeth By his wife Abgail eldest Daughter of Cecil Cave Esquire, third Sonne of Roger Cave of Stanford in the County of Northampton Esquire. And this shee most affectionately dedicated to his Memory for him , herselfe, and their Children.
Above again, Inscription to Francis and Anne Sherard: Here lyeth the bodies of Francis Sherard Esquire who was the Sonne and heire of George Sherard Esquire who departed this life the 13th day of December in the yeare 1594 aged 65 yeares. And Anne his Wife, the eldest daughter of Gregory Moore of Burne in the County of Lincolne Esquire by whom he had issue 3 Sonnes, Philip, William and George, and 1 daughter, Rose. Here also lieth the bodies of Sir Philip Sherard, Knight the eldest Sonne of Francis Sherard Esquire the Lady Isabel his Wife, one of the daughters of Sir John Harper, of Swarson in the County of Derby Knight, who died without issue July 6th 1624, aged 37.
