Bassett de Rekedale, same Arms.
Robert Earl Ferrers 1780 may refer to the 6th Earl, living in 1780. Motto, In Deo Confido: In God I Trust. Arms are those of Shirley, Paly of 6 or and azure, a canton ermine. The Inescutcheon argent, a hand gules refers to the title of Baronet Shirley and the crest is an earls coronet. The impaled Arms, Azure a chevron between 3 hanks argent represent his wifes family. (This would definitely not, in a church window, refer to the 4th Earl, who killed Johnson, his land steward, and was the last British peer to be executed as a common felon at Tyburn).
Robert Shirley 7th Earl Ferrers d. 1827, Shirley Arms with an inescutcheon of baronetcy and Crest an earls coronet.
Shirley de Eatendon. Shirley Arms and Crest: A Saracens head proper in profile, couped at the neck, wreathed round the temples or and azure. (This crest could be awarded for any embassy or work overseas: warfare is not automatically implied).
Robert Sewallis Shirley, Viscount Tamworth d. 1824. Shirley Arms with a label of three points argent (as eldest son). Crest, A viscounts cap.
