Pair of attached houses, now houses and flats. Early C19,
altered in C20. Plastered brick, roofed with slate. Main range
facing SE, with stack in party wall in front of axis, and at
each end a cross-wing projecting slightly forwards, each with
an internal stack at the outer side. 2 adjacent rear wings,
each with a stack at the junction. Each house has a mid-C19
2-storey lean-to extension to the rear of the main block and
part of the cross-wing. The rear wings have been converted to
flats in the C20, each with 2 doors.
2 storeys. No.2, at the left, has on the ground floor 2
original sashes of 6+6 lights, and 3 on the first floor;
central moulded 4-panel door, the upper panels glazed, with
plain overlight and boarded architrave. No.4, at the right,
has on the ground floor one original sash of 6+6 lights, and
French windows with marginal lights, and on the first floor 3
similar sashes; C20 glazed door, sidelights and plain
overlight, within lean-to porch with glazed roof and C20
imitation Georgian door to right, and window with marginal
lights and semicircular head with projecting key to front.
Latticed trellis in front of French windows. Band at
first-floor level. Low-pitched roofs with wide projecting
eaves. At the rear, No.2 has one original sash of 6+6 lights
on the first floor of the cross-wing, and another on the
ground floor of the rear wing; No.4 has one similar sash on
the cross-wing, and in the rear wing one on the ground floor
and 2 on the first floor; in the lean-to is a casement with
marginal lights and semicircular head. Flat No.5 has a C19
moulded 4-panel door, the upper panels glazed, with plain
overlight. Some original internal folding shutters at the
fronts.
