House in row, with restaurant. C16 or early C17. Timber-frame,
rendered, tile roof. Side-entry right-angle plan, with gable
to street. Broad-gabled flat front to street, carried through
to corresponding rear gable; covers Hayes Court, to left.
2 storeys, attic and basement, 2-windowed. In gable a 2-light
small-paned casement, and at first floor 2 replacement
casements. Ground floor has C20 shop front with central door
on one step, above small plinth with two blocked basement
openings. To the left is entry to Hayes Court, with wall to
right in framing, with C20 brick nogging, and left side in
heavy braced framing. At approximately 4m back from the street
front a broad chamfered beam bears on the party wall. The back
gable, with C20 fenestration, has some square panel framing,
and remains of one heavy corner post, and a long rear wing has
square-panel braced framing. INTERIOR not inspected.
