604-1/5/64 (West side)
09/02/72 Nos.5 AND 6

Pair of town houses. 1820s. Brick with buff headers and stucco
dressings; slate roof with brick stacks paired across ridge.
Double-depth plan. Georgian style. 2 storeys; almost
symmetrical 4-window range. Plain cornice. Left end
round-headed entry with plank door; right end
elliptical-headed carriage entrance with rusticated arch and
key over paired plank doors. Entrances to ends have moulded
doorcases, friezes and flat cornices, overlights with
decorative glazing bars to 3-fielded-panel doors. Windows have
sills, and rusticated wedge lintels with keys over 12-pane
sashes. College Street is part of the development of the land
on which the medieval priests' college stood until 1799, in an
area of good quality early C19 housing.
