Terrace of 6 town houses. 1820s. Brick with buff headers and
stucco dressings; slate roof with brick stacks, 2 cross-axial
and 2 paired across ridge. Double-depth plan. Georgian style.
2 storeys; 6-window range; Nos 7-10 form symmetrical
composition, as do Nos 11 & 12. Plain eaves. Entrances have
moulded doorcases, friezes and flat cornices, mostly C20
doors, but No.7 has 6-fielded-panel door. Windows have sills,
and rusticated wedge lintels with keys over 12-pane sashes,
but No.11 and No.10 first-floor have 4-pane sashes, and No.12
has C20 plate-glass sashes. Nos 7-10 have central round-headed
entry with plank door and flanking entrances, end entrances;
Nos 11 & 12 have end entrances.
College Street is part of the development of the land on which
the medieval priests' college stood until 1799, in an area of
good quality early C19 housing.
