House divided into 2 houses. Possibly early C18 origins. Slate hung front over soft
wood timber frame with brick infilling. Slate roof with gable ends; the roof to No.
10 on left has been cement washed. Brick end stack on right and rear lateral stack
near centre.
Plan: Original plan uncertain. Possibly of 3-room and passage plan, the right hand
room heated by an end stack, the central room by a rear lateral stack and the left
hand room possibly by an end stack. The house may have been divided into 2 in the
C19 or alternatively may always have been 2 houses. A kitchen wing of 1-room plan
was added to the rear of the right hand room of No. 8 in the circa mid C19.
Exterior: 2 storeys and attic. Regular 1:2 window front. No.10 to left has a 16-
pane sash on the ground and first floors and a C20 door to right. C19 hipped full
dormer to attic with a 2-light horizontally sliding sash. To right, No. 8 has two
C19 16-pane hornless sashes on the ground and first floor with a C20 door near the
centre and a hipped full dormer with 2-light casement to the attic.
Interior of No 8 has C19 ceiling beams, C18 2-panel doors on the first floor and
roof structure with principals with morticed apices; the collars renewed and nailed
onto the face of the principals.
Interior of No. 10 not inspected.
