C18 wall tablet in north aisle -Here lie deposited the remains of Thomas Burnaby, Gentleman: he married Mary the daughter of Thomas Jackson of Duddington, Esquire, by whom he left 2 daughters viz. May and Sarah; and departed this life the 19th day of August in the year of our Lord 1705, the years of his age 33-. The oval is garlanded with acanthus leaves. Below are a skull and crossbones. Above are two roses, and a winged cherubs head. The latter was popular on headstones etc at the time, and was intended to encourage the departed soul to fly up to heaven. (Photo Apr 2008).
