Pair of cottages. Probably c.1840-50, altered. Cobble walls
with sandstone dressings now all covered by roughcast render
painted white, with slate roof. Double-depth plan, each
single-fronted. Two low storeys, 1+2 windows. No.16 has gabled
porch to 2nd bay, with chamfered doorway, hoodmould, and
projecting eaves and verges with finial; and one 3-light
mullioned window on each floor to the left, the upper under a
small gabled dormer. No.18 has a plain doorway to the right,
one 3-light mullioned window to the left and 2 above, all with
hoodmoulds. Two ridge chimneys. Forms group with No.14
adjoining to the left (q.v.) and with Nos 13 & 15 opposite
(q.v.).
