8/178 Parish boundary stone at
SJ 8795 7470
II
Parish boundary stone: probably dated 1849. Equilateral triangular
buff sandstone block with a dormer top. The stone is deeply buried
but the south-west face shows B (for Birtles), east face M (for
Macclesfield) and north-west face A (for Alderley).
Similar stones of this type are encountered elsewhere on the
Macclesfield borders and are dated 1849. The date on this stone is
probably hidden.
