Semi-detached villas. c1830-40 Portland Estate St John's Wood villa
development (No 12a rebuilt in facsimile). Stucco; slate roof.
Italianate-Grecian. 2 storeys on basement. 1 window each with recessed entrance
wings. Corniced architrave doorways approached by steps. Recessed sashes in
architraves, tripartite with consoled cornices on ground floor. Front
articulated by giant Corinthian pilaster carrying very shallow segmental arches
over window bays below overhanging eaves on elaborate console brackets. Similar
villa type to the adjoining Eyre Estate.
