Industrial building. Late Cl8/early C19. Ham stone coursed rubble, ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof with plain
gables, with flat-roofed platform at south end, possibly for former bell-turret. Three storeys, 3 bays. In east
elevation plain mullioned windows with beaded surrounds, 2-light lower bay 3, bay 1 first floor and bay 3 second floor,
3-light bay 2 first floor and between bays 1 and 2 second floor: to lower bay 1 a plain opening to boarded door having
deep stone lintol; to bay 2 a pair boarded doors in 3-centre arched opening. In south gable a casement window to ground
floor, a boarded door in simple opening to first floor without an approach stair, and a 4-light mullioned window to
second floor. Interior not seen. This is presumably the C19 glove factory located in Newtown, the centre portion of
Hurst. (VCH, Vol III, 1974).
