Chamfered Swithland slate headstone to Elizabeth the daughter of James and Elizabeth Cort d. 18th May 1760 aged 23 years. -Cut Down in Youths Gay Charming time/ (eg Cruel Death hath took her in her) Prime-. The sculptor may have been L Claxton. A headstone at St Andrew, Langar, has stylised angels of the same kind and dated, 1762 signed W Barnes L Claxton. But Barnes is noted for his relief carvings.
