Sundial, copper dial and gnomon 1721 on circular cement baluster,
probably C19. The baluster stands on a hexagonal memorial base of
stone beneath which lie the remains of 59 members of the Birchall
Broadhurst, Domville, Deakin, Forster, Garnett, Gorse, Goulden, Green,
Greenhalgh, Haddock, Hewitt, Holden, Humphreys, Isherwood, Lamb, Lee,
Leigh, Seed and Yould families, died 1741-1903.
The dial is inscribed Ab hoc momento pendet AETERNITAS P.Simpson (?)
1721.
