House. Mid C18. Mostly Ham ashlar and local stone rubble rendered; flat roof behind parapets; short chimney stacks. 3 storeys, 5 bays to each main facade. South West elevation has plinth, string course, cornice, plain parapet; sash windows in bolection mould surrounds, of 15-panes to ground floor and 12-panes above; to bays 3 to 5 a single-storey C19 addition with flat roof, with open porch screening the original doorway: ground floor bay window to South East elevation - only North-East elevation unaltered. C19 cottage extension on North West side. Some internal modifications of C19, but C18 tall 6-panelled doors and good staircase remain.
Built between 1753 and 1770 by the Spencer family - Parson Woodforde visiting it on 4 July 1770 said "Mr Spencer has a noble house and everthing in the neatest manner".
Since 1784 has been the house of the Bailward family.
