Lodge and attached gateway. c.1846. Rock-face ashlar with
ashlar dressings. Slate roof. Single stack with 4 shafts to
rear left. Ashlar coped gables with kneelers and ridge finials.
Chamfered plinth. Single storey plus attic, 3 bays. Single
central bay projects, is gabled and has a single canted window
with single ashlar mullion 2 light casement flanked by single
single light casements. To the right set back is a single small
fixed light, to the left, set back slightly, is a lean-to. Attic
has in the single central bay a single 2 light ashlar mullion
casement with Tudor style dripmould. Attached to the right is a
low rock-face ashlar wall surmounted by an open ashlar wall with
moulded coping. Adjoining to the right and set on a plinth is a
single ashlar pier with moulded coping and single orb finial,
attached to the right is a decorative iron gate, and further
right is a single larger ashlar pier on a moulded base with
foliate decoration to front and rear of pier and moulded coping
topped with lion holding shield, further right and adjoining are
decorative double iron gates and on the far right corresponding
piers, gate and wall.
