Pavilion in the garden of Kingston Hall

Pavilion. 1842-6 by Edward Blore for Edward Strutt, later
created Lord Belper. rock-face ashlar with ashlar dressings.
Pyramidal stone slate roof surmounted by an octagonal cupola, each
side with open oval panel in decorative surround. Panelled
frieze. Topped with decorative conical lead roof with single
finial. Set on a plinth. Single storey, single bay. Small
square structure with clasping pilasters and corbel table broken
by the pilasters. The west side with round arched entrance
supported on a single pair of pillars with moulded capitals, arch
with pendant keystone. Raised, panelled spandrels. The
remaining 3 sides each with single blind slit ventilators in
flush ashlar quoin surround. Included for group value only.
