Terrace of houses. c1840. Stucco over brick with slate roof,
hipped to left, brick and stuccoed party-wall stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 36 first-floor windows (2 per house).
Stucco detailing includes horizontal rustication to ground
floor with voussoirs over doors and windows; first-floor band
surmounted by paired pilasters (joined with round arch to
upper part) between windows, those to ends are single; band
and cornice (missing in places) with copings, ramped upwards.
Windows above doors are narrower; first floor has alternate
6/6 and 8/8 sashes where original; ground floor has tripartite
6/6 between 2/2 sashes, where original; all in plain reveals
and with sills. Entrances to left: 4-panel doors (some
part-glazed) where original with overlights.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
A substantially complete terrace of this type and date,
retaining its stucco detailing and sashes.
Forms a group with Church of St Philip and St James, Grafton
Road (qv).
