Pair of houses. Early C18 facade with C17 or earlier core.
Timber-framed, encased in brick and refronted. Plain tiled
roof. 2 storeys and attic, 5-window range. Outer doorways,
that to left in moulded architrave with console brackets to
entablature, that to right a simple 4-panelled door with
overlight. Central arch to passageway, with wood mullioned and
transomed windows of 2 and 3 lights. Blind central upper
window flanked by 2-light wood mullioned and transomed
windows. Windows all have segmentally-arched heads with
keystones, those on the ground floor linking to aprons beneath
the upper windows. Moulded string course over first-floor
windows. 2 wide gables with 2-light casement windows. Axial
stack. Framing exposed in gable walls. Heavy square panelling
in lower wall, timber of slighter scantling above, suggesting
a second phase.
