Formerly known as: No.11 THE SQUARE.
Civic hall. 1839. By Edward Hiram Haycock. Ashlar faced,
rusticated to basement storey. 3 storeys, 5-window range.
Neo-classical, with pedimented advanced central bay. Giant
Ionic portico over basement storey, which has central entrance
flanked by tripartite windows with console brackets to
entablatures. Upper windows behind the portico are 24-pane
sashes in stressed architraves with entablatures to first
floor, the central pedimented. Flanking bays have plain
tripartite windows to lower floor, 24-pane sashes above, with
pedimented heads.
INTERIOR: substantially altered. The building now incorporates
the former Masonic Hall (Former Masonic Temple, College Hill,
qv) as its main functions room. The hall of the former
Vaughan's Mansion (qv) is also incorporated in the complex.
