Pair of houses and attached boundary wall. 1893. By Watson
Fothergill of Nottingham. Red brick, with timber-framed first
floor and brick nogging, ashlar dressings, and gabled and
hipped plain tile roofs. 3 coped brick side wall stacks.
2 storeys plus attics; 4 bays. Windows are mainly plain
sashes. Balanced front flanked by canted bay windows, 2
storeys, 4 windows. Right bay window has a canted roof.
Smaller left bay window has a pent roof to the ground floor,
and octagonal main roof. Large side wall stack in the return
angle. In the centre, a pent roofed verandah covering two
triple sashes, and above, 2 similar windows. Above again, a
hipped dormer.
Right return, to Wiverton Road, has a higher central bay with
a hipped roof, and a gabled bay to right. Central pent roofed
wooden porch with 3 traceried windows. The porch is integral
with the boundary wall.
Left return, to Third Avenue, is similar.
Boundary wall, rock-faced stone with rubble coping, across the
front and both returns. 3 small gateways.
