Lodge to Royal Infirmary (qv), now shop. c1793-97, with late
C20 alterations. Probably by J Rawsthorne. Ashlar with gabled
and hipped slate roofs with central coped ridge stack. Single
storey; 3 window range. T-plan. Front has projecting centre
with open pediment and central C20 door flanked by single 8
pane sashes. Above, a half-round glazing bar window. Beyond,
on either side, a similar single window in the set back wings.
Returns have round-headed recesses, each with a 2-light
casement. Rear has a small lean-to projection and to left, a
C20 door. INTERIOR not inspected.
