1827, built over an old well. Subsequently became contaminated and was sealed
off. Superstructure removed, plinth only remains. Octagonal, sandstone ashlar,
alternate sides concave above projections hollowed out to form oval troughs.
4 steep steps to plinth which shows traces at iron canopy supports. Sunk panels
on sides probably once held plaques.
