House. Late C17, altered 1806 and remodelled c1830. Coursed
squared stone with ashlar dressings and steep pitched pantile
roof. 2 gable stacks with coped square double flues. Coped
gables with kneelers with ball finials. Single storey plus
attics; 3 window range. Windows have mainly leaded glazing. 3
stone dormers with timber-framed gables. The outer windows
have a stone mullion, the central window a wooden one. Central
stone doorcase with mullioned overlight and C20 door. Above
it, a datestone inscribed "GDG 1806". On either side, a stone
mullioned cross casement. Left gable has two first floor
windows, reglazed late C20.
This building is one of those altered c1790-1820 by George de
Ligne Gregory and remodelled in a picturesque style c1820-1840
by Gregory Gregory, successive Lords of the Manor of
Harlaxton.
