Burgage house, former hostelry, now shops to front. Early-mid C19 front
to C15 house remodelled in C17. Usual cross-passage plan with rear wing.
Ashlar with coped parapet, Cotswold stone roof, C20 ashlar chimneys to
right hand gable with corniced capping. 3 storeys: 2 windows, glazing-
bar casements on 2nd floor and sashes to 1st floor, central bivalve doors
with transom light, angled bay with glazing-bar sashes to left, irregular
alley door and window to right. The rear roof slop has an octagonal
golden ashlar C15 chimney and a hipped dormer. 2-storey 3:1 window rear
wing with residual timber-framing, There are inside 2 excellent
chimneypieces, one on corbels in C14 style, the other with the quatrefoil
panels to lintel and reveals which seems to be a feature of Burford
fireplaces.
