Stable block 25m north of Warden's
House at Crewe hall

GV II

Stable block. c1850, with late C20 alterations. Coursed
squared stone with ashlar dressings and hipped slate roofs
with 2 stone ridge stacks. Higher central block with pyramidal
roof topped with an octagonal bell turret with clock and
weather vane. 2 storeys; 5 window range. Square central block
has a triple round-headed window. On each side, at a lower
level, 2 round windows. These windows have stone surrounds.
Below, 4 C20 square glazing bar casements with concrete
lintels and to left, a C20 flat-roofed porch with a similar
window in the return angle. INTERIOR not inspected.
